Virginia Community Economic Network elects new board directors and officers

At its recent annual meeting, the board of the Virginia Community Economic Network (creator of SourceLink Virginia) elected a slate of new members and officers representing a cross-section of the Commonwealth. The directors have a variety of senior-level experience in business, government and nonprofit, and it includes several serial entrepreneurs. 

VCEN_Logo - longVCEN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit education, networking and advocacy organization promoting innovative, creative and sustainable local entrepreneurship, placemaking, and social innovation strategies that spur job creation, increase wealth-building, and enhance community vitality.

Originally founded in 1995 as the Virginia Microenterprise Network, the organization subsequently merged with the Community Economic Development Alliance of Virginia and was re-branded in 2013. VCEN's board of directors now consists of:

VCEN is deeply grateful for the service of its founding board members and staff who directed and shaped its operations. Over the past four years, organization has emerged as a noted convener, thought leader and advocate for expanding prosperity for Virginia's people and places. It has developed or catalyzed a number of new programs and initiatives to enhance the environment for community, economic and entrepreneurial development in an around Virginia. Its new board members look forward to energetically advancing the organization's mission and vision.
